Pipelines are the safest and most efficient way of transporting energy resources to cook our food, keep us warm, and generate the electricity necessary to power our daily lives. More than 3.5 million miles of buried pipelines gather raw oil and gas, transport them to refineries and processing plants where they are prepared for use by consumers, and then move them to market centers or storage facilities.
Stakeholders in the community can benefit from downloading Buxus® and learning more about:
The operator(s) in their area subscribing to Buxus® and the general location of their facilities. The products transported, how to recognize a leak or potential emergency, and the steps to take in the event one occurs, including the 24-hour emergency response number they can use to notify the operator.
The public’s responsibility to protect the integrity of the pipeline through the use of 811 before digging, and reporting any unusual activity near underground facilities.
The steps operators take to maintain their assets from when they are first designed and throughout the operational period. Activities include anti-corrosion programs, damage prevention, and public awareness outreach to integrity management programs.

Download the Buxus® app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Click on “Register” and then when asked whether you have a “Quick Code” answer “No” unless you have received a mailer.
Select your role (e.g. Member of the Public, Public Official, School Representative, etc.).
Enter your name, address, email and then create a password.
